Pros

The company follows the MBM principles. These principles guide guide everything from hiring to decision making and how we communicate. I really appreciate the challenge process. This allows anyone in the company to challenge an idea or task, to discuss the safety and viability of the direction. In a manufacturing environment, it is nice to have your voice heard when dealing with complicated tasks. Another positive is the benefits and education reimbursement.

Cons

Some of the leadership in the mills are operators who have been promoted over the years. They understand how to operate the machine and processes, but can be resistant to Six Sigma, Lean, and advanced training techniques.

Challenging But Fulfilling

Pros

There are always new challenges that stretch me as an employee in my career development and mental models. I find the atmosphere very fulfilling as knowledge sharing is not only encouraged but expected, and rewards are based on contribution, not on hierarchy or tenure.

Cons

Not a con of Koch, but this environment is not for everyone. You are expected to perform well, and strive to achieve much. Not a place for someone to coast through life.
