Pros

Decent product that has clearly made a difference in people's lives - although it's starting to show it age.

Cons

A very ironic company. It's product is designed to help people communicate but the CEO and (remote) CFO are the worst communicators ever. The inexperienced CEO even bullies people (and hires bullies) which is the complete opposite of their mission. They also cannot make decisions so things just linger.

Pros

Fantastic atmosphere and congeniality: this really is a team collaborating to create superior products.

Cons

Minimal benefits when switching from contract to full time. Senior management frequently seems disjointed, in terms of opinion towards specific employees/ideas. Agile method doesn't feel fully integrated.

Pros

I worked on-and-off at Kognito as an instructional designer for several years. Kognito is a small company doing big things, worthwhile things, things that you can feel proud to be a part of. This is one of the best aspects of the company. The people who you work with are skilled at what they do, and, although the company is growing, it manages to maintain a tightly knit team environment. At least that was the case when I last worked there.

Cons

The company's products serve a very specific purpose, in a very small niche. I would have liked to see a broadening of product offerings, and perhaps more of a willingness to take some risks. However, I completely understand why that wasn't/isn't the case, as well.
