Cons

The lack of talent, knowledge, creativity and common sense is rampant throughout Kohl's New York Office. Unfortunately Senior Management is the worst culprit with the most fragile egos and the greatest level of sheer incompetence. It's pretty incredible that such a large company is led by completely unqualified people, especially in regards to design leadership. The people that are promoted are the 'yes' men that do not voice opinions. Managers' top priorities are to appeal to Senior Management, not to create great product and build their teams. Top talent has been, and continues to be, pushed out.

Pros

Kohl's is a great place to start your career. Their internship program is stellar, and they have a very high rate of job placement for interns. Kohl's is in it for the long run...I believe that management is setting the company up to last. It might not be the most cutting edge place to work, but your job will be safe.

Cons

It is very difficult to move "up the ladder" at Kohl's. Teams are not consistent in their structure, so moving around between teams can be detrimental to your career growth. There is no formal training for managers, which creates additional inconsistency between teams and leaves some teams vulnerable to horrible management.
