Pros

Full time medical, financial & time off benefits, flexible scheduling, investment in career growth within the company.

Cons

Climate control in stores is not good. Corporate controls the temperature in stores from the headquarters in Wisconsin and the A/C does not stay on at full strength when the store is closed. Associates come in everyday before the A/C kicks on at full blast (10 minutes before store opening time) and the building is like a sauna in any season other than winter. Breakrooms, restrooms, and offices within stores are miserable in the summer and even with associate, manager, and customer complaints, for some reason it still takes over a week for a technician to come out to the store and inspect the system only to end up saying that it is in fine working order.

Pros

Great coworkers Friendly team members Great Dept leadership Great discounts

Cons

Managers don't fire underperformers because there's NO ONE ELSE to do the work Kohl's is just another symptom of the corporate greed/lack of a LIVING minimum wage--"faux" woke but they're living off broke employees No union, sorely needed A/C is awful during the summer, you will sweat Arrogant corporation-- yes, REQUIRE your teams to CHANGE their wardrobe and wear an all-black shirt uniform WITHOUT offering it free of charge IN A PANDEMIC annnnnnnnd then cover it up with crappily timed "friends and family" discount Disgusting, not even trying to hide their greed Passive-aggressive How many millions did you know who get while new coworkers and seasoned coworkers with solid work ethics get paid the same rate And watch out for the influx of high school kids getting hired, nice kids but not always the most reliable workers

Pros

- Most of the work is pretty simple - If you're lucky, you'll be with helpful managers and friendly co-workers

Cons

- Constantly pushed to sell credit cards - Have to deal with customers who go crazy about Kohl's Cash and the company's convoluted discount exclusions - Store is almost always understaffed, so you will be expected to perform the jobs of 2-3 people simultaneously - The pay is atrocious, especially compared to similar positions at other retail stores - Because of the payroll structure, hours are wildly inconsistent. Not only will you not be working the same schedule each week, but you might work 40 hours one week and 16 hours the next (if you're part time)
