Seasonal position review

Pros

I was hired for a seasonal position, and management, as well as employees, were mostly nice and helpful when I had any questions. The store was really nice and had a large variety of items.

Cons

The supervisor for the particular job I had couldn't seem to care less to fully show me how to do the job, and was rather rude when I asked questions. It seems like the kind of job that you really shouldn't screw up, and I was left to try figuring things out on my own a lot, which resulted in filling some orders slowly. Another con would be scheduling for Thanksgiving and Black Friday. I understand needing to be available, which I was, but I had less than eight hours between my two shifts. And I was given my meal break late on Black Friday, which gave a mark against me out of three before they would terminate me for not following policy. This was not my fault since the store was very busy, and I had reminded the leader more than once I was going to be late clocking out.

Pros

So they do a lot of selling and telling you that they are about the family. This is not true during anytime there is a problem they tend to call you in and make it so you have to work. If you are a manager you will have to be there when you don't want to be. I would tell you that they are such a lean company and they don't pay enough to deal with the mess that you deal with. I know it's say pro's the only pro is there is discount that is it.

Cons

Some of these people take it way to seriously. It retail you are not saving the world. Numbers are unrealistic. Plus you have to sell credit. Not offer but sell. They do it to themselves because they don't hire well. Depending what store you are and what store manger you have you could be doing almost everything by yourself. Everyone complains about other people. But even the people who are complaining can't do there job. The training blows and then they expect these people to know what they are doing.
