Pros

I enjoy helping customers and we sell good merchandise and have a nice store. I work with some really great people as well.

Cons

The pay is bad compared to other similar jobs in the area. The hours are unpredictable and you can go from 30+ hours a week to just a few in no time. People in positions of power seem to be on power trips and enjoy berating their employees. Credit and e-mail and making money is all the management team cares about. Customers are nicer to me than some of my coworkers.

Pros

Very flexible with scheduling, allows for changes in availability due to school and other outside factors. Co-workers are friendly and fun to work with. Job as a whole isn't very strenuous. Opportunities for promotions are posted for employees to see.

Cons

Very little to NO training provided for job positions. Management fails to recognize hard work of employees and also fails to reprimand employees who fail to meet expectations. Stores are constantly understaffed due to low payroll allowances. Beginning salaries not competitive with other industry companies. Area Supervisors and Assistant Store Managers care only about their departments with little teamwork displayed between different departments. Computer systems, Inventory Systems, and store equipment are not up to date with technology and become burdensome instead of making business more efficient. Part time employees receive minimal hours (many receive as few as 4 hours a week).

Pros

(usually) flexible hours, friendly management and coworkers, good team work among coworkers, comprehensive explanation of expectation, some room for advancement (especially if willing to relocate)

Cons

some store policies are hard to agree with, ethically. management can sometimes bend too much toward a customer's wishes, putting integrity on the line.
