Pros

Once you learn the job you actually got hired to do, it's not so bad. Great training provided re Company background.

Cons

While training for the company is provided, training for the specific job you do is lacking. This causes frustration for the staff person. Management's expectations are extremely high with the limited staffing they have. Staffing is always limited due to limitations set by the home office for how much can be spent on payroll. To me, this is a downward spiral that will not be resolved unless the home office takes a look at the effect this causes.

Pros

The benefits are great. Kohls is a people driven company, and the culture demonstrates that consistently.

Cons

The company is an extremely lean company, and trying to execute everything and maintain a neat environment is impossible without putting in extra hours. The lack of technology makes getting tasks completed long and drawn out.

Pros

-The 3 month training period isn't bad because you get paid to basically have 0 responsibility and that is about it. I did not enjoy the people, culture, or the actual job in the slightest.

Cons

-Repetitive work -Spend so much time learning systems that don't work well and waste a lot of time, so you have to make it up before and after hours, even on weekends sometimes -It is not a 40 hours per week job. Most people come in an hour early, work through lunch, and stay an hour or two after 5 trying to complete the minimum requirements -Management isn't particularly supportive and your peers aren't likely to help you seeing as you are competing for promotions that don't occur that often -Career advancement depends on how much people in the office like you. When they say you can expect to move up every 2 years or so, that's only for the very very top performers. Most people spend well over 2 years in each position if they can bear to stay with the company that long -As an entry level analyst, you really don't matter. In the buying office, there are a 1,000+ other people doing the exact same thing -They have a very high turnover rate -You experience will vary a lot based on which division you are placed in, which is just based on luck -The office culture is terrible. A lot of gossip and backstabbing. Very few company sponsored outings to show their employees they appreciate what they do.
