If you adore retail as in industry, consider several retailers before accepting any job position and be prepared to start at the bottom. Many retailers are operating at a C- level. If you are fine with moving credit on a daily basis at Kohl's, you'll be OK. If you don't like to move credit, there are other jobs available not hinging work performance off of this central metric. Kohl's is supportive of a work/life balance. Their benefits are better if you're working at a salaried level so see if you can locate gainful employment at regional levels, depending on prior retail work experience. Full-time employees receive several weeks vacation after a year. Associates have a lot of time off during their first year (w/out pay). Time off (w/or w/out pay) increases with each passing year...up to 4 - 6 weeks if you are salaried. You get what you put into any company so a positive attitude and strong work ethic is everything. Like any work environment, there will be a mix of empowered mindsets. When store managers are doing well, they will put the time into associate education. There is a strong emphasis on team work as most should expect. Retail is a large beast so all people have to work together well.
