      My experience at Kohl's was terrible, working alot of hours and not being appreciated by management.

      Pros

      The salary is good compared to other retail management positions. Recieve a comp week of vacation for working during the holiday season.

      Cons

      No work life balance Managers expected to work on days off and 10+ hours days This is not a good job to have if you have children Management only focused on meeting sales goals, not the associates well being Management (Store Manager and District Manager) put too much pressure on Assistant Store Managers without giving proper feedback, training and Guidance The MIT program is NOT efficient enought time (3 months) to prepare someone to become an Assistant Store Manager

      Pros

      A decent amount of vacation offered, even for part-timers. Good insurance plan and 401k. Overall a good place to work. Always clean.

      Cons

      I would actually probably REALLY like this job if we weren't 100% focused on getting Kohl's Charge card applications ALL THE TIME. Only the associates that excel with getting credit apps are recognized on a regular basis for a "good job". There is not NEARLY enough payroll to get the job done well. We are forced to do a "half-a**" job.

      Pros

      Some of the best reasons to work at Kohl's are the good discounts, nice co-workers, flexible schedules, and the environment is pretty laidback.

      Cons

      Some of the downsides are the new people not being trained properly, not enough recognition, same people get recognized over & over again, not enough communication between everyone, and pay does not equal the amount of work done.
