Pros

Onsite child care, onsite wellness center. Friendly people. Good discount on great products. Two onsite food centers. Men's and Women's onsite health expo.

Cons

Not enough parking, need to add time to your workday for parking and transportation from parking spot to office. No onsite gym. Kohl's is very 'worker bee' heavy which makes it difficult to stand out and move ahead. Average work day is about 10 hours, and that includes eating lunch at your desk. It is easy to get burnt out.

Pros

they're pretty lenient regarding body modification (tattoos, piercings) compared to other employers. as long as you show up, do your job, and stay out of specific managers' radar they (usually) won't go out of their way to push you around or micromanage.

Cons

credit, credit, credit! management doesn't care about anything but people getting credit. nowhere in my job description does it say that I am required to solicit credit apps, nor is soliciting a part of my yearly review as a replenishment/truck unload associate, and still sometimes they'll get a bee in their bonnet about the fact that I've got no credit for the month. considering i work like a dog every day doing not only replenishment but also having to set the fixtures i'm filling (because most of the time they're not set to planogram, if they've even got the correct merchandise on them at all!), i don't appreciate being condescended to because i've been too busy _doing my job_ to be following people around and hounding them to sign up for yet another credit card they don't need. management is also not that great; some have been great yet ineffective, others have just been jerks on a micromanaging power-trip. the only common factor is that nothing will ever get finished no matter who's in that day. eventually you get to the point where you stop looking at the walksheet or asking the manager on duty what you need to focus on... you just show up, keep your head down, and start doing what needs to be done within the scope of your position -- if they need you to do something else that badly they can always page you, y'know?
