Pros

Associates volunteer program Kohl's care about their customers

Cons

Too much emphasis on credit. It seems like it is more important to get credit then to get a satisfy customer. Sometimes very few work hours per week

Pros

Kohl's is really good about transferring you to another store when you move. They are good about working around school, and your personal life. The employee discounts aren't bad either. The employees on the floor are fun to work with and are usually really nice.

Cons

I worked previously at another Kohl's store. Management was really great. They helped out on the floor or register when needed. They pushed credit, but they did not overdo it. I now work at the Kohl's in North Logan and I HATE it. I've talked to several employees who all feel that the store manager does not care about them, and does not thank or appreciate the hard work they put in. Recently management started these "Accountability Worksheets" for the cashiers, where the push credit like crazy and you either get a "Pass" or "Fail" at the end of your shift. Our credit goals are usually 1 for every hour we are scheduled. This is easier said than done, especially when the majority of customers already have a Kohl's card. At the end of your shift, if you you haven't made your credit goal (even if you are one away from reaching your goal) you get a big fat "FAIL". Most of us cashiers don't make our credit goals even though we push and ask every customer. No employee wants to be told they fail after every shift. Most of us cashiers have talked and agree that we all feel like not even trying anymore. These "accountability worksheets" deplete the enthusiasm of working at Kohl's, and make every shift extremely stressful. If you get enough "Fails", you get fired. And the days that you get over your credit goal, the managers don't care. I've immediately started looking for a new job, I just feel like all my motivation and enjoyment about working at Kohl's is gone. I'm even one of the best credit-solicitors, and I don't achieve a credit every hour I am at the register, regardless of how much I push. The management at this Kohl's is horrible, and the store manager could care less if you are satisfied with your job. The management is also horrible about letting you leave when you are scheduled to be off. I was refused my break, and made to stay almost 1.5 hours AFTER my shift had ended. To me, this is just extremely rude and unprofessional. My manager didn't even ASK me if I could stay, she just refused to let me go home.
