Pros

-The opening pay is good for a student. -Received decent hours. -Most of those I worked with were fun to be around.

Cons

-They have you push the Kohl's Charge Card and the email list heavily. If you don't make your quota, you are not only chastised, but are threatened to be fired. -There is a lack of communication between the management and the associates, and if you attempt to talk to the management/make a suggestion, it's ignored unless you can make more than your credit quota. -No matter how much you do to be seen as a good employee, unless you can go above and beyond their credit expectations, you will only be seen as a poor or decent employee.

Pros

Kohl's is always willing to award you for doing a great job whether it be by just helping out a fellow associate, a customer with a difficult question, or by getting better in a certain area such as credit or email sign ups. My favorite thing about Kohl's has been the managers I work for a Kohl's that is in the top 10 of the company. With that rank comes great management who are not only focused on their customers and goals, but also on helping their employees better themselves and maintain a healthy lifestyle. I am a college student who came home looking for a summer job. Kohl's hired me, even though I was potentially leaving in the fall. As I began to hone my skills at getting credit card applications, they started to let me know that I was a valued employee that they wanted to keep. I found out that Kohl's has a program for college students where you can work as little as once every 90 days, but still be employed and get hours during breaks. I have never heard of a company who is so flexible and caring. Kohl's has really allowed me to focus on school while still knowing I have a job to go home to.

Cons

The only con that I have seen so far is that at times we are understaffed. These makes those busy times very, very difficult. I understand that Kohl's can not predict the exact busy days, but I wish they would keep some people on call just in case they are needed so that the rest of us aren't struggling through the day.

Pros

Low stress, very lackadaisical environment, management does bother you if you only do the bare minimum.

Cons

Food is often used in lieu of financial compensation. Very conservative, mid-western environment. If you bid your time no matter what type of a job you do, you will be promoted. But if you are hard working....you generally still have to wait for a promotion. Low wages, management gets away with murder, when they come to work.
