Pros

Compensation and benefits are consistent with field.

Cons

Absolutely no work-life balance. Schedule each week reflects 45 hour work week, but realistically is closer to 60. 12-16 hour days are standard fare. Working on days off is also expected (especially in preparation for the never-ending threats of store visits by executives who never come) . Training and Development of Assistant Managers is virtually non-existent. Store Managers receive bonuses up to 30% of their annual salaries while working less than ASM's . ASM's get no bonus. SM's are also eligible for additional bonuses throughout the year which ASM's are excluded from. The sad thing is that the local job market is tapped out and opportunities are scarce - and the folks holding the purse strings know it.

Pros

The benefits, vacation time, and salary are excellent. Also, the ability to be promoted as an executive is achievable.

Cons

The extremely long work days, especially when there's a store visit. Also the morale in the store is tough because of the pay the associates receive. Very low work life balance.
