Pros

Corp HR deletes any post they don’t like to ensure only positive comments and brand image. Dig deep in these reviews to understand the real culture and problems at Kohler. It’s a family run company who are involved in every decision with heavy red tape.

Cons

Beware: mandatory in office requirement of 4 or 5 days a week effective 1/1. Anyone hired in remote roles will be laterally stuck if they don’t relocate and have no room for promotion.

Stay two years, then get out. If you last.

Pros

Cheap health insurance, looks good on a resume if you don’t get stuck in a position for 5+ years watching less competent people promoted over you, they allowed people to work from home during Covid

Cons

You are so underpaid it’s not even funny. Don’t calculate your per hour rate if you’re salaried, because it will make you want to quit instantly. They laid off people and didn’t replace their work anywhere, so those left are doing the best they can to get by. No raises last year but kohler saw profits. Management refuses to hire lower level employees who are just starting out to help with more intricate tasks, so you spend hours organizing things manually. No one cares if you have 8 years of experience and a doctorate degree , you’re not at a certain level so you’re typing words into spreadsheets. Not allowed to take on projects that are actually engaging, because you’re stuck doing time wasting things during work hours and rushing to get emails out late into the night. Maternity leave is a joke- 6 weeks plus 2? Time and time again people leave kohler and instantly make 30,40,50k more than they did.

Pros

Large company & opportunity for career change/advancement to the right employees. Many get stuck in a positon and are unable to move.

Cons

Too much upper management and management that is not qualified (golden boys). The company management is very heavily lopsided towards the male side, and many of those males are still operating with the mindset of the 50s. Don't expect to excel to far too quickly if you are a female. The company is also stong on favorites, regardless of your intellectual ability and career track record. It's more of a WHO you know, rather than WHAT you know kind of place. They will wine and dine you as an intern, tell you all kinds of great things about career opportunity, travel, etc. Then after about 1-2 years, the reality sets in and you find out that it's all a bunch of lies to lure you in. Most people don't stick around for lthe long haul here, many get some experience for their resume and then move on. You are JUST a number here, they really don't care about you as a person.
