Pros
Kroger has a unionized work force. If you make it through the first year you can get to a decent pay in department management. If you're willing to step on other people and say yes to anything you can move up quickly.
Cons
Kroger hires everyone and you have to deal with everything that they have going on. Customers can be demanding and rude. Not everyone can deal so you have to cover them. You are in charge of training every new employee and many don't make it through the first year. To move to to next step I was told you have to sell your soul and be willing to say yes to everything.
