Pros

There just isn't anything to say for this, sorry. Complete waste of time, pay was not even worth the gas it took to get there, or the hassle it took to get my last paycheck and the level of disrespect I encountered with the franchise owner.

Cons

Terrible pay - $8- $9 an hour Very unprofessional owner at Kumon Mableton - Adrienne Lawrence Not allowed to actually help students, you just sit and grade their work and corrections silently Corporate office has very little control over different franchises- so cannot really help with issues Only have 1 pay period a month! Various franchises in the same city are run completely differently- the terrible ones (Mableton) give the good ones (Kennesaw Mountain) a bad name by having to share a name with them.

Pros

Social commitment towards kids and benefits

Cons

The constant changes and reorganizations instituted by the new president and the EVP here in the Teaneck office are a morale downer. The senior management is dominated overwhelmingly by rootless Japanese expats who have not a clue about the people culture of companies here. The formula for survival is simple: Be servile if you can, or keep mum if you can't, because the Japanese can do no wrong. Information is not shared freely and everything seems to be a state secret. If you ask questions, you are black listed as "negative." There is overwhelming consensus that things are rotten at Teaneck.

Gangsters run the company

Pros

Medical and dental benefits are affordable

Cons

I work at the distribution center in Kentucky. The place is run by a gangster who has little to no respect for employees. Staff on the shop floor are demeaned, mocked at and ridiculed constantly. Many of us have complained but nothing is done other than giving the gangster a slap on the wrist because of his godfather in the Headquarters in Teaneck, NJ namely the Finance Vice President who should be running a "Joe's Crab Shack". The Japanese management for many years pays just lip service to this place and turn a blind eye to the misery that's happening here.
