Engaging work but serious management issues and stress

The work is engaging, and can be cool. It's definitely advanced stuff and you'll learn a lot here.

Cons

Massive attrition across the business points to serious issues with upper management. It's nearly impossible to advance in your career. They will not counteroffer. They continue to take benefits, some of which are still advertised. Feels like people are pitted against each other far too often, and most feel taken advantage of. For the wrong type of person, this place can prove too stressful. For me this has resulted in several severe medical problems, which have forced my hand in leaving.

Stable career and the people you work with are the best part of the job.

Cons

HR dictates all opportunities and salary increases. There are many levels of management, which isn't unique in aerospace/defense. tend to get caught up with bureaucracy.

Pros

the actual projects are interesting and important. There are some very intelligent and genuine people you will find on occasion. Good for experience, but not a long-term career.

Cons

Management is horrendous. Top-heavy good 'ol boy culture, full of gossip and sometimes outright slander. Supremely unprofessional behavior from specific middle managers specifically.
