The hours where you make money require you to be there extremely early on the weekends so your social life suffers. The way they pick managers and leads are beyond me, we are talking about totally unprofessional people who will hire their equally unprofessional friends and just do whatever they want. Being a college student and being told what to do by people who are totally incompetent is very frustrating and demoralizing. I did make friends when I worked with laz but at the end of the day when the tips are scarce people look at for number one and thats really the only way to make money. when it says on this site that the average valet pay is 8 something that is total bs, i worked at the highest pay rate in the city and i made a little over 6. Project managers are very young just out of college frat boys who are all friends and they don't respond many times when contacted and promise advancement when it is not there. Now ill say this, there are many complaints on here about lack of advancement... This is unskilled work so I did not expect to be promoted with a salary when all they know me for is driving cars and interacting with guests, project managers should be college educated and career minded people so I wouldn't give those complaints much worth. That aside it should not be that terribly hard to hire competent people, most I worked with were not. I saw the best employees for valet positions to be college kids like myself, but the job and the managers turn them away pretty quickly from the idea of sticking it out till graduation.
