Pros

Your fellow employees make the crap sorta with it

Cons

They have no care of employees taking advantage of them. They show favoritism in an unbalanced way and they ignore all suggestions saying "well we've been here longer and know better."

Pros

I was paid bi weekly and the checks always cleared. I met some decent co workers and lots of great customers

Cons

Very disorganized. Lots of chaos and unnecessary drama in the warehouse area. Very POOR treatment of employees. Management does not want employees working together and puts a wedge between departments. There is lots of jealousy and envy and the one manager constantly stands around talking bad about good employees because they have a nice car or bought a new house etc. He likes to turn employees against each and has ZERO leadership and people skills. He is very lucky to be handed the management job that he was given for whatever reason because no one in their right mind would hire someone like him for any job that involves managing people...or even animals. Employees are constantly told that there aren't any other jobs and that this is the only place to work. If you don't like it theres the door mentality. Employees are NOT OWNED by a company ! Employees are paid to do to the job they are hired to do for a company, they are not the property of the company they are employed with. Employees have the right to speak up for themselves and disagree without being threatened. When someone leaves and finds a job that pays better and treats employees better the manager tells everyone that he doesn't believe it and there aren't any jobs out there that pay well. He does not want to see anyone succeed at LKQ or anywhere else for that matter. This is not the way a manager should feel towards an employee. Management does not appreciate or respect the drivers and warehouse workers. One of the so called managers can barely type an email but has been given the authority to oversee a Fortune 500 companies daily operations. There are a couple of people that have positions that they are EXTREMELY unqualified for and should be sweeping the floor of the dismantling area instead of harassing employees . They are in charge of routes and jobs that they are not capable of doing themselves but criticize the hard working under paid drivers. I do not think that LKQ itself is a bad company, I feel that corporate may be unaware of what has been going on at this particular branch and should make a few simple but necessary and LONG OVERDUE changes. Eliminating the correct people would cut down on drama, disorganization and very high employee turnover rate, not to mention the cost of training new employees over and anger again . Its like a revolving door. Im sure one day things will get straightened out and hopefully create a happy work environment for the hard workers at LKQ.
