Pros

Working for not for profit firm. Research money pays for internal research and development projects. Awesome new building!!

Cons

Lack of performance evaluation and feedback to grow as a consultant. Originally LMI paid 9% of base pay to your 401(k). Now, it's 4%. Reason is to stay competitive in the Government consulting market.

Pros

Folks at LMI have a true belief in what they're doing. LMI is completely dedicated to government consulting. The amount of experience the average LMI employee has is amazing. Nearly anyone could be considered a SME. Employees are treated well and pay is good.

Cons

I was disappointed at the inability to move laterally between groups. LMI, by its name, tends to focus on supply chain/logistics problems. But the supply chain is a broad concept. The organization is divided into many different groups, many of which focus on a different area of the supply chain. I did not observe much transition between groups, allowing people a broader experience in the supply chain.

Pros

Strong community reputation w. clients. Great staff and employees that genuinely care about what they are doing and each other. Leadership promotes professional and personal growth at all levels. Strong support for work-life family balance. Lots of field expertise, intelligent employees, and STRONG talent - great project opportunities to apply skills. Staff is not rude, cut-throat, divisive - there is never an "every man for himself" mentality here. Very academic and collegial environment. Competition is a standard you place against yourself to succeed - not others.

Cons

Salary range is lower in comparison to what you would make at other management consulting firms for level of work and there is little room to grow into management positions without bringing new business in. Can be difficult to network in other parts of the company if you work at an off-site client location.
