Thank you for this review! We’d like to provide some clarity around LMI’s 401(K) employer contributions. After a salaried employee completes one year of service at LMI, the company contributes 4% of their base salary to their 401(K), regardless of the employee’s level of contribution. Then, LMI will match up to a maximum of 3% of a salaried employee’s 401(K) contributions. LMI’s contributions are 100% vested upon deposit to an employee’s 401(K) account. Pros

I have worked at a myriad of different consulting and advocacy firms for the government, and LMI has been by far the best. We have thousands of employees, and I personally feel heard by our Senior Leadership. They nurture and grow talent, and genuinely care about their people. In terms of doing the work, they knock that out of the park as well.

Cons

If you're good at what you do, you need to learn how to say no before you find yourself doing 80+ hours a week. Not specific to LMI, but a challenge in this industry.

Pros

Friendly coworkers, decent benefits (great healthcare and 7% 401k match fully vested one year in)

Cons

Inflation has been reaming the lower rung workers. They decided to roll the bonus into salary and eliminate the bonus to "fight" inflation which isn't a bad idea but it does mean next year there won't be a new bonus thus the benefits have become a bit worse. I've found it hard to get promotions despite doing a great job in the lower ranks. LMI is trying to expand to triple its size by 2025, and I think they're cutting some corners to do so.

Thank you for your feedback – we’re glad that you enjoy your coworkers and LMI’s comprehensive benefits program. As you note, we modified the eligibility criteria for our annual bonus program earlier this year; however active, benefits-eligible, salaried employees who are no longer eligible for an annual bonus can participate in our spot bonus program. The spot bonus program rewards above-and-beyond performance throughout the year. If you have any additional feedback, please email conversation@lmi.org.
