Pros

People are friendly but bless their heart they have no clue what they are doing because of the lack of training.

Cons

Back Office Reps aren't trained well and often give you the wrong info. Technology is so way behind everyone else in the industry. You're better off working in a wire house because independent firms are rather cheap in all aspects. LPL spent so much money on the new system ClientWorks and they had to make so many corrections and even brought back the old system because the new one wasn't working properly. As a result of the lack of knowledge and help, our team left LPL and went to another independent B/D. In fact other teams from LPL are here as well so that says something. Intranet is horrible and hard to navigate. No employee Directory!!!!!

Pros

Great campus including awesome cafeteria. Business casual, comfortable, vibrant atmosphere. Good to their employee and encourage internal growth.

Cons

Although LPL encourages internal growth, they have promotion compensation cap of like 6 or 8%. So it pushes employees to leave the company just to get compensated their worth within a position. Ex. You start their making $50k. Eventually get promoted. Since you are only allowed to get an additional 6% you now make $53k. However, if they hire someone off the streets for this role they may hire them at $80k (the positions worth)
