Pros

You can work from home, The base pay is pretty average

Cons

The hours are insane. You will work 10-12 hour days. You will work weekends. You will work on PTO days. You will work on holidays. Everything you work on will be critical and behind schedule. Leadership comes up with ridiculous random deadlines. They will tell you all the right words like they want to have work life balance. Then slowly the 40 hour week moves to 45 then 50. Once you hit 50, your boss will tell you there are going to help move work off but it will take a couple weeks. After that the hours increase to 55 and another month or two goes by with no work reduced. God help you if you ever make a mistake. You will be publicly called out by the director. You will have a dozen meetings added to your calendar so you can be micromanaged. Turnover is really high. I don’t think we have been at full strength on our team since early 2020. They have a hard time hiring because of it and it is getting worse with each person that quits. Leadership never says no to adding more work. They will just add another #1 priority to your list of 10 #1 priorities. Capacity is never looked at except for people who are not working enough. If any department falls below 100% capacity they add more work and expect the rest of the teams to just work a little more. You will be told to put the hours you need to do the work in the system but after you get over capacity you should only put the hours you expect to work in. That way leadership can pretend they are looking at capacity.
