Pros

Great employees who are dedicated to helping each other and the company succeed.

Cons

Constant revolving door in management. Management positions not posted for internal applications. Good people laid off, which ruins morale. Other people who aren't pulling their weight are retained, which ruins morale. Great reviews are not rewarded with corresponding pay increases. Job / title you came in at is probably still the job you have. No reward for increasing job skills, and company doesn't pay for training or keeping up certifications. Expected to work through your vacation, so tethered to devices - even when you make clear that you won't have access to e-mail, you are expected to keep up/attend meeting, etc while on vacation. Glass ceiling for minorities and females. Many new leaders from outside company, so don't appear to promote from within. Non-existent career path - have not seen one IT promotion in time I have been here. New people in IT stay a short time (a few months), then leave. Overworked because people aren't replaced, but the workload doesn't decrease. No acknowledgement of a job well done. Quick to point out the negatives, though. Salary structure is kept secret - used to be open, but that changed 2 years ago.

Rewarding Hard Work; No Recognition or Compensation

Pros

Great industry focus that helps thousands of seniors during their nursing care needs. Company continues to grow and there are a variety of positions. Trying to upgrade the administration system and other technology.

Cons

The last few years are all about the bottom line when it used to be about the people who helped build the company and worked there for years especially in IT. Previously loved coming to work everyday. Industry and company knowledge is not valued anymore, now anyone can be replaced with a contractor despite the long term impacts. A contractor can complete the task at hand but will not know the long term impacts of those tasks. Expensive contractors are brought in while excellent employees have to be perfect for an annual 2% increase. The operation teams run on minimal staff and skill as well.
