Pros

People are great and universally smart and helpful. Seems like this is exactly what you should get when you pay above average and set high expectations. Company is extremely dedicated to getting employees to succeed.. collaboration, mentorship (separate from management), multiple career path guides, formal and informal tech sessions, very good training with real-world examples.

Cons

Development hardware/software/environments/resources provided by client are horrible. This reduces productivity a lot, which everyone is aware of, but it's client unwavering mandates. Expectations generally take this overhead into account, but it sucks to feel less productive than you could be.

Good experience working with smart teams on challenging projects. I've learned a lot about the finance industry and have worked with interesting technologies to craft clever solutions to tough problems.

Cons

Wish I had more exposure to the business of consulting. I do a lot of technology but not so much consulting.

Cons

1. DC projects can sometimes be complex but not as technologically challenging, the way to counter that is to work on some NY projects once in a while.
