Pros

There are no pros working for this company as a whole- the only potential pro is that you can get away with a lot of unethical behavior

Cons

Everything at the start of this job sounds great and everyone puts on a really good show for about 3 months. The fake runs deep. I was intrigued when I started because it’s a small center and at the time they were only hiring RBT’s with training and experience. But as time went on, true colors came out. The ethics code here is non existent. They claim there is no dual or interpersonal relationships but oh my. The national clinical director, regional clinical director, and a BCBA are all very close. The regional clinical director was in the BCBA’s WEDDING. That being said, this BCBA walks on water in this center. Said person has been reported for inappropriate behavior with clients and staff and nothing has ever been done. Knowing how this company operates, nothing ever will be done. This BCBA will gaslight and emotionally manipulate you and then scream at you in a lobby full of parents and clients or make inappropriate comments about your personal life, you will report it, and that’s the end. Nothing ever changes. I have never worked in a place where the morale of employees is cared less about. All these people are interested in are billable hours so they can have their fat paychecks and bonuses. RBTs are pee ons. This goes beyond just being poor supervisors- it’s about how these people are as human beings. Allowing someone to treat employees and clients the way this BCBA does and receive MULTIPLE reports from MULTIPLE people and do nothing about it just because they are “friends” is disgusting. How can parents trust the integrity of care and staff at a place that condones this sort of behavior? This goes past this particular individual as well. There are RBT’s that have been employed here that came to work under the influence, blatantly threatened to harm children and others that will say out loud in front of a group of people that they don’t care about these kids. When this behaviors is reported to supervisors it is laughed at and these people continue to treat children with high needs day in and day out. If you want to work in a place that allows employees to run a muck and not follow any sort of ethics code, apply and they will hire you because they don’t care either.

Pros

The kids are awesome and the families are great

Cons

Just here to share that Lacuna is a disappointing cesspool of a work environment led by a group of non-clinical fratboys and "leaders" who refuse to take accountability for literally anything. The Colorado Springs location specifically employs a BCBA who either sexually harasses the rbts or waits for his time to yell at them/embarass themfor speaking out against his actions or if they dare question him on anything. But also, don't bother speaking out against any of these toxic actions if you experience them, because the national and regional clinical directors are friends with this bcba, so they will pretend to listen to you, but no real consequences will actually be carried out. Other highlights include: *THE HR "DEPARTMENT" IS THE CO-OWNER OF THE COMPANY. Loyalties will likely lean in the best interest of the company if issues escalate to HR due to this. *"Solutions" to problems that have arisen in the past include telling staff to care less, invalidating concerns, brushing issues under the rug, or indirectly providing feedback to address the problem. *Gossip and drama on the floor run rampant, including from people on the leadership team. *rbts take data on their personal cell phones, leading to excessive personal activities on their phones, which causes them to pay attention to the kids less and less. *This place needs to make some serious changes if they want to increase they quality care. I would not trust leaving my child to recieve quality services here unfortunately. *Also they will not give rbts raises at your annual review, stating baseless reasons.
