The worst company I have ever worked for.

Pros

There are still some quality people there, but not for long I suspect. The fitness center is awesome, in theory, since most never get a chance to actually use it.

Cons

Off the charts expectations in terms of hours (start at 80/week and go up) combined with outdated tools and limited resources (staffing). CEO and CFO cultivate a culture of distrust, fear, and intimidation. They fall back on "this is how retail works". They have completely obliterated the culture of Gary Comer interms of taking care of the customer and employees and everything else will be taken care of. The term "materiality" is absent from their vocabulary as EVERYTHING is material. For all those who are gushing about this company after being spun off from Sears, do some research on the new Board. They are all hand picked cronies of Eddie Lampert.

Pros

Company has a great fitness center for employees to use free of charge. Employees also get a discount on product.

Cons

Management is very biased ,plays favorites in the workplace. The actions of both management & workers are both very unprofessional. The company suffers a serious morale problem due to weak and apathetic leadership not held accountable for doing their job correctly. Company has so blurred the line between full-time & part-time employees that there is less and less benefit to being full-time. Company has and continues to find ways to take more benefits from employees. Overall Management will not listen to you, give you support when you need it, or give you any kind of recognition for what you do for the company. Working for Lands' end has become a very stressful place to work due to the demands put on people, not having good communication , or clear understanding of what is expected of you. It seems the way things are done and policies regarding employees change hourly this only adds to employee mistakes, frustration and bad attitudes. Management focuses wholly on employees mistakes and never on recognizing employee accomplishments.
