      Terrible Communication

      Pros

      Engineers, from what I can see, have it better then the IT department. Managers are very friendly and approachable in the various Engineering departments and UNFORTUNATELY for IT professionals this is untrue in the IT department.

      Cons

      Biggest issue negatively affecting this department as a whole =1. Management. Focused purely on "sweatshop" workers then hiring employees and management who know what they are doing and are EDUCATED. Too much time spent on trying to learn/teach new technology. Taking on new technology they can't handle. The Managers attitude and Her overlooking education. 2. Communication. 2nd manager doesn't speak english.

      Pros

      - Some really great, unique projects that were brought in. - Upper management were approachable - Travel to different areas

      Cons

      - Travel to different areas when they didn't have anything for you to do - Work Life Balance was very off; long hours were required for many projects - Forced to undercut number of hours charged and billed, this became too much of a numbers game to management - Very low starting salary, it would have taken 4-5 years to get comparable pay - Cut-throat competition that did not cater to those in a cooperative team environment

      Pros

      Hands on field work allowed me to see how material learned in lecture applies to real life engineering projects. Employer allowed me to work on a variety of projects in different locations.

      Cons

      Working in the field can be a challenge a times because of the summer heat and long hours. In the real world though, long days are just a fact of life and I was well compensated for my hard work.
