Terrible company to work for

Pros

The remote opportunity and the training period were the good parts

Cons

Micromanagement is insane. The pay is not worth the amount of expertise and proficiency required. The hour isn't flexible. You are locked in with a schedule you set up. Did I mention how terrible the support system is? Whenever I request support, it takes me 2 or 3 days to receive a reply.

Thank you for your review. Feedback helps us continue improving the interpreter experience. As a Great Place to Work for the past 6 years, we’re always looking for ways to enhance our processes and have recently implemented a new scheduling system. If you have additional feedback to share feel free to contact interpretercommunications@languageline.com.

Pros

Easy to take a day off when you have something urgent comes up.

Cons

Too strict on all the small details rather than investing in accurate interpretation (such as lighting on your face when you do video calls, it has to be directly in front of you. If your window is on your right and it shows that the source of lighting is coming from the right side, you wouldn't pass QA). Very high traffic, you might be getting 8hrs back to back call if you're interpreting a high demand language. No Work from home reimbursement at all. If you happen to have a technical issue (such as portal wouldn't let you set yourself as available to take calls - which is not your fault), you wouldn't get paid.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re glad to hear you found it easy to take time off when needed—we understand how important flexibility can be. We appreciate your feedback regarding our quality assurance standards and technical policies. Our goal is to support interpreters in delivering accurate and professional interpretation in a secure and consistent environment, which is why certain technical requirements—like lighting—are in place. That said, we recognize how important it is to balance these expectations with the realities of working from home, and your insights are helpful as we continue to evaluate and improve our processes. We strive to ensure fair handling of system-related concerns, and we are always working to strengthen support and communication in these areas. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

as long as you follow rules no one will bother you

Cons

No contact with anyone unless you search for coworkers. It gets heavy on B2B calls people can be rude, no one will support you in the work force
