Feels like a community

Pros

I joined Laserfiche only a few months ago and I have to say the culture here feels like a community. I’ve been pleasantly surprised and appreciative of how transparent, available, and supportive upper management is across many departments. For a company this size, there is a clear sense that we are all working towards the same goal. The clubs that are offered here make it easy to connect with like-minded people and just adds to the family-like feel of the culture. Expectations from managers are clear, work/life balance is very much present, and it’s a spot where you can feel the impact of your work and see the value you add to your team. I’ve been enjoying my team and time here so far – our department operates on open communication and empowerment so it’s been a good transition.

Cons

Too early to tell.

Pros

It's a job that can provide a source of income if you are desperate for money and don't care about your career.

Cons

This is a family-run business by a family that isn't at all respected or liked among employees. Since members of the family were given upper management roles, the majority of them do not have the appropriate experience or education. This is shown by their clear incompetence and poorly made business decisions. They try and compensate for this by acting as authoritarian figures making the environment toxic. Just take a look at the approval rating of the CEO (who is the husband of the founder and assumed role once she passed) and you will see that even with numerous positive fake reviews he barely hits 52%. If there were approval ratings for VP's and directors, they would be well below 50% across the board. People who that work at Laserfiche work there because they are tight on cash and need a source of income (which is below industry average). If you are a new grad you'll realize that you won't develop any of the skills that your colleagues at other companies will in half the time. On the topic of new grads, Laserfiche only seems to hire new grads because no experienced person (by experienced I mean 2+ years of work) would ever come here unless they were in a desperate financial situation. If you are a new grad, it's likely that you'll be jumping through tons of hoops in the interview process. You will go through just as many hoops at other companies and it's almost guaranteed that any company is better than this one. Be weary of who you also interact with during the interview process since this whole company is a facade. The people interviewing have a ton of experience at interviewing (since the turnover is so high) and do a good job at showing off this company like it is legitimate. If the talk about the environment hasn't steered you away yet, you should know that the product itself is also lagging years behind their competitor's. Speaking to account managers, I've heard stories of how they're laughed at by prospective clients when they describe the archaic solution. This ties back into you not learning any new valuable skills, as the "skills" you do pick up on are outdated in this rapidly advancing technical world. A final note - You're an intelligent person who can learn from the mistakes of others (ex-Laserfiche employees). Laserfiche is a sinking ship with no life rafts. If you get an offer here believe me you're smart enough to get an offer elsewhere. Even if it takes another few months, at other companies you will be surrounded by smart people, you will be motivated to do work, and you will learn valuable skills that will help you throughout your career.

Pros

The company is not afraid to reward you for your hard work. People notice your effort, and give you kudos for it. Very friendly environment. This is a place that allows you to grow, get promoted, and get compensated for your work. There is no sense of hierarchy, everyone is in the know about what is going on.

Cons

really hard to balance work life and social life because there is a lot of things people need to deal with.
