      Great Research Environment but Extremely Low Pay

      Pros

      Working at LBL allows you to access some of the best research facilities in the world. Everyone here is extremely intelligent and motivated, which makes the work very stimulating.

      Cons

      The is drastic postdoc pay disparities between divisions/areas and most salaries are extremely low for the Bay Area and not competitive compared to other national labs. More senior employees don’t really advocate for early-career research staff so there is pretty high turnover which then in turn impacts productivity.
