      Pros

      You get to work with very smart people. Before the pandemic, going into the lab was a real highlight as the views are outstanding.

      Cons

      Low pay for bay area living. The postdoc salaries are generally set by the NIH pays cale, but this doesn't consider cost of living adjustments. Lots of pressure to perform, which can lead to longer hours.

      Pros

      Best place to do research and gain knowledge and experience. Very friendly scientist (PI) to the most part.

      Cons

      There are few bad apples (PI) in ETA. Please make sure you get to know more about the scientist or PI whom you will be reporting before taking the post doc position.

      There are a lot of experts from different fields. This helped me learn/experience a variety of research.

      Cons

      Some buildings are very old. The lab is located on the hill so driving to the lab may not be pleasant.
