      Work on cutting edge Science in the name of advancing human understanding of the universe we live in. LBNL is dedicated to open science research ranging from improving the energy efficiency of building construction all the way to understanding the origins, and ongoing evolution of the universe.

      Like any government organization, LBNL funding can be subject to the whims of Washington politics. Some groups and divisions will be more affected by this than others based on the specific nature of their funding and mission.
