Pros

Opportunity to take home what would be expensive kitchenware Opportunities to learn more about cooking, kitchenware and other products Lax dress code

Cons

Management as it stands. Disability accommodations are not honored in this environment. Took a bad flare up that resulted in me calling out of a shift for the manager to realize I had an actual problem, and still assigned me the task that aggravates said issue for my full 8 hour shifts, and still refuses to allow sitting breaks at registers for any employees with similar issues. Manager has locked up chairs in a separate storage room with a lock only he has the key to. Employee handbook states that discussing wages with coworkers is discouraged, which is (as far as I am aware) illegal under the NLRA. Manager consistently misgenders myself and my colleagues (2 nonbinary people and a trans man), stating that it is something he needs to "get used to" (He was introduced to us with our current names and pronouns. He had not known any of us prior) Current store management is dedicated to making the shopping experience as corporate and soulless as possible. Upper management will brush off employee concerns and refuse to acknowledge known issues in the store until the absolute last moment in favor of cutting corners where possible. The work environment has shifted from warm, inviting and communicative to one that is only focused on pushing sales, alongside the manager actively discouraging communication between employees. Employer will promise a 3-month review with opportunity for pay raise, which has not been honored for any colleague I have discussed it with. POS systems are about 5-7 years out of date, and I don't have faith it will be updated until the computers are physically incapable of processing payments. Policies will oftentimes be completely ignored for the sake of appeasing customers. The two week time frame for in store returns will be completely disregarded with the mildest of push back, negating the entire point of the policy. Clique type behavior coming from upper management and 6th floor buyers, of whom will make themselves as sparse on the actual sales floor as possible. Heightened expectations of sales associates juggling multiple tasks and register duties at one time coming from these same individuals with less physically demanding workloads.

Pros

It used to be a very friendly, communicative, cohesive environment. Emphasis on "used to".

Cons

LeRoux's morale is, quite frankly, currently in shambles due to poor management. A solid wave of people are quitting at once, including myself.
