Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concerns regarding teacher retention at each campus. We take these issues very seriously and are always looking for ways to improve the work environment for our educators and development campus leadership skills. We highly value our dedicated teachers and their contributions to student success and are sorry to hear that your experience in LISD was not a positive one. If you have specific feedback regarding your campus principal, please reach out to the Area Superintendents office or the HR Department.

Pros

I had the BEST principal and school admin/leadership team. I had amazing coworkers and there were instructional coaches to help teachers be the best version of themselves in classrooms. The district had amazing professional development options and I really liked the new Fine Arts Director. She always got our input on what kind of professional development we wanted.

Cons

The pay did not match my cost of living needs and I had to move to find a more affordable cost of living situation.

We're so grateful to hear about your positive experience! It sounds like you had a fantastic team around you, with supportive leadership, amazing colleagues, and fantastic professional development opportunities. We especially appreciate your kind words about the new Fine Arts Director! While we're sad to see you go, we completely understand prioritizing your cost of living. As a district, we are committed to supporting our teachers in all aspects. We continue to review compensation and work to provide the best possible benefits package to our staff. We hope to see you back in LISD in the future!

Thanks for the review! We're thrilled you enjoy the students, teachers, and time off. We understand compensation is important and encourage you to visit our careers page to learn more about our full benefits package. We're always looking for ways to improve and have recently implemented the option for instructional assistants to opt out of annualized pay so that you are paid for the time you worked each month and it's not spread over 12 months. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to look for ways to improve our support for instructional assistants.
