Pros

Working with students who need someone who believes in them. Decent benefits.

Cons

Administration that doesn’t profit if students improve. This is a *for * profit business, if students get their behavior under control said business loses money. Think about it. Teaching up to 8 preps with very little break or planning time. Negative, depressing atmosphere. Curriculum is NOT what is listed in brochure. Old and sparse technology. Low pay.

Pros

You are truly a part of a team here. Each teacher works with a behavior specialist and together they work to improve the lives and outcome for students who have been unable to remain in their regular schools. The administration is supportive. The benefits are wonderful! Excellent health insurance of high quality at a low cost to the individual - the company pays for vision, dental, life and short term disability. Respect for work/life balance.

Cons

Starting salary is not the highest, but the supportive work environment makes up for that.
