No time off, vacation requests denied (worked there over ten years and got told no vacation or time off is guaranteed it’s a privilege)

Lee never figured out how to handle the transition to the digital age. It's been playing catchup ever since the dawn of the internet. Corporate management definitely gives the impression that they don't give a damn about their employees, and their actions (outsourcing, layoffs, no pay raises for years at a time, insurance hikes that amount to de facto pay cuts) shows it. The only time corporate visited the satellite papers was to decide who they were going to outsource. Morale was horrible when I left. The worst thing that happened to the newspaper I worked at was when Lee bought it.
