Pros

The support for our military and veterans by DRS and it's employees is second to none.

Cons

Business is subject to the whims of our government and it's lack of support for the defense sector.

Fifth graders could do a better job running this place.

Pros

Overall, I enjoy most of the people that I work with. That's really the only good thing I can say about this company.

Cons

Strictly amateur night as far as the organization is run. Each department operates in a vacuum. Engineering and design work is often sloppy because of unrealistic deadlines and budgets. Instead of spending a little extra time and money to do things right the first time, design issues are pegged as "acceptable risks", until it bites the program in the ass down the road and it costs the company twice as much in rework costs, engineering redlines and resources in order to get the product out on time through eleventh hour heroics. Our customers deserve better and so do the employees who are continually expected to get blood from a stone.

Pros

Despite being part of a the global conglomerate, Finmeccanica, DRS remains a mostly decentralized organization of smaller defense businesses that react/respond quickly to changes in market and customer needs, allowing it to react quickly and competitively to secure new business opportunities.

Cons

The attributes of smaller companies also bring challenges of scale, which can negatively affect cost structure. Talent development also falls short when compared to larger company strategies, which seek a continuous improvement culture of people and process to drive competitive advantage.
