In reality: Pros – Education and training This is true, you can take advantage of the tuition reimbursement they offer if you are not too overworked from all work you will be doing. In the last two years, DRS' poor planning has obligated workers to take roles of approximately 4 other employees. A testing engineer had to become test, quality, program, and design engineer. With all these obligations and pressure there is no way anyone can take advantage of the tuition reimbursement policy. Training offered at work is only applicable if you are part of the fishing club and a mechanical engineering background. Paid holiday shutdown is like starting out with 3-4 weeks vacation - This was a true advantage until management and specially DRS' irresponsible Human Resources department came to their senses and recognize that the company is in terrible shape and just getting worse. Since then, these vacations are no longer additional to your 2 or 3 weeks. So now you must take your vacation time during their shut down or take this time unpaid. No PRO here. 9/80 work week - every other Friday off - With the new demands for engineers, you must be crazy to take the Friday off, you will be put in the list for the next layoff! Management is hypocritical about this, they offer it to you but expect you to always work overtime. Compensation is refreshing - Compared to Harris, GE, Rockwell, Northrop, is less. Just compare it here in Glassdoor. Great health benefits - Yes, these are good benefits. Nice 401k - Comparable with most companies mentioned above. Latest equipment and tools keep you current - They invest but when the management direction is archaic then technology cannot help you. Their obstacles are your opportunity to advance - The fishing club are your opportunity to advance! I sense that all these PROs were written by their delusional management or HR department that have been lying to their employees for the longest time denying the signs of any trouble. These incompetent leaders gave employees and ex-employees the certainty that the company was doing great. They still believe it and had probably more than five layoffs in the last two years. If you want to know how this company is being run just look at the credentials of the management, they barely have degrees and are certified by Mickey Mouse Universities PRO - YOU HAVE OTHER OPTIONS

Tactical Systems USED to be a great place to work. Back when it was still Paravant Computer, it was voted "Best Workplace in Brevard" five years in a row. My, how things change!
