A lot of internal fighting for influence and status led to a toxic work environment, exacerbated by favoritism. Remote work made the communication problems worse. Instead of creating more opportunities to interact as one team, the company leadership disappeared and made themselves hard to reach. Attrition is very high, many talented and experienced engineers, managers, and sales/business people left. There is nothing new ahead, no new products or projects. The best it can do is market the existing product to boost sales and hope for a buy-out.
