Pros

Like many other team members, I have been with the company for over a decade and I still find myself working for a company that constantly wants to improve and make things better for its employees, audience and customers. With Lexipol, you really have the ability to grow along with the company. I started at an entry level position and through hard work, given opportunities and ample support and guidance, I was able to work my way up to the leadership level. In my experience, whenever the company or a manger can, they will play to your strengths, helping you to define and develop your role leading to a path of success. The fact that every manager has an “open-door” policy and that employees are encouraged to ask questions, express their ideas and/or concerns, gives you a bit of an idea of what kind of culture we have and why our business has been successful for so many years. Our CEO and upper management are very transparent about company developments and frequently communicate updates, challenges and achievements to the entire workforce and give ample opportunity for feedback through company-wide surveys, meetings and Q&As. Here is the important thing – they listen, and I have seen changes and improvements based on employees’ feedback on numerous occasions over the past 10+ years. Our work environment is great and one of inclusion. We are doing a lot of fun office-wide and team-building activities. These are planned by team members for team members across all departments. The company allocates a generous budget to cultural events providing opportunities for people to socialize, exchange ideas and reward themselves for a hard day’s work. In early 2019, Praetorian Digital and Lexipol merged with legacy Praetorian Digital’s CEO now leading the combined business - Lexipol. This required (and still does) a lot of hard work but is a huge testament to what kind of company Lexipol is. It has always been important to me to work for a company that has a mission that I can identify with and being able to make a difference to the people I work with. Before the merger, both companies had great track records and I am excited to see how much more the new combined business can do now to even further elevate the help Lexipol provides to first responders to stay better informed, better protect our communities and come home safe. I am looking forward to growing further with the company and continuing making a difference.

Cons

No company is perfect (which company is?) and Lexipol doesn’t pretend to be. We continuously strive to improve not only our products and services to the first responder communities and government entities but also our team members’ experiences. You do need to have a sense of ownership and be willing to go the extra mile to be successful. Most of our work is team based, so you need to be a team player and be able to adapt to changes.

We appreciate your feedback and are disappointed that your time with Lexipol was not a positive experience. Although we do not feel your experience is consistent with that of most employees at Lexipol, we take it very seriously and agree that there is always room to improve. We monitor our turnover rate carefully and it’s trending strongly in the right direction, post our merger last year, and is currently in line with companies of similar size. Lexipol values ideas and input from both new and tenured team members and we have a good balance of both within the company. Any ‘Old Boy’s Club’ mentality is not acceptable, nor the norm, and diversity of staff and thinking is important to us. We’re proud that more than 40% of our leadership team (director level and above) is female. We are continually working to build a collaborative, positive culture where new ideas and trust thrive.

Pros

Extreme flexibility from working remotely, Wonderful leadership, vision and direction. Lexipol affords me the ability to truly make a difference in my chosen field, not just locally, but nationwide. There's no question that we improve the level of service of our client agencies in public safety and local government. That's extremely important in this day and age. I'm proud to have a role in doing so, all the while, being valued as a Lexipol employee and contributor to ours, and our client's successes.

Cons

It's "different" working remotely in that "face to face" interaction with coworkers isn't a part of such an arrangement. But, I know my teammates are a phone call or e-mail away. The flexibility in working remotely makes up for any feelings of "isolation."
