Pros

Excellent product suite with a dominant place in the insurance data market. The entire P & C Insurance industry is aware of this group so an account rep can always get at least a hearing from a prospect or customer. Expectations are reasonable. Support from within company is excellent (marketing, IT, etc...). Director has true vision into creating new products and solutions for the insurance industry. There are genuine opportunities to advance to higher positions. Promotion is based on merit.

Cons

The benefit plan at this company is not great. This group used to be called ChoicePoint. ChoicePoint was an incredibly great company to work for. Since this group has been taken over by LexisNexis it has really gone downhill in terms of the way employees are treated. Compensation is down, benefits are much worse and short term success vs. long term relationship development is emphasized more (although sales positions are still consultative). Sales jobs in this group are outstanding but only a shadow of what they were when the group was the company called ChoicePoint.

Pros

Flexability in work hours/work from home. Many great people that work well together across functional areas.

Cons

Blatant favoritism towards technology team as they get special recognition, promotions, and deals. The lack of career development and being held to different standard. Promotability above a Director level is impossible because Sr. Management completely ignores the complexity of the work, level of enterprise wide impact of decision making and problem solving. This is very evident in some functional areas such as Finance. Bad decision making and lack of accountability when new product launches that consume a large amount of resources and never seem to add much revenue.
