Pros

Great severance packages! In Dec. employees are allowed to wear jeans everyday. Summer flex hours are available; however, very few take advantage due to meetings and deadlines. Employees are recognized and rewarded with plastic coins.

Cons

Senior management alienates, divides, creates fear and uncertainty vs use influencing skills. Many VPs withhold information, release selectively, and use it as a weapon vs share information freely. They identify only with clones of himself or herself vs gets on well with people at all levels and from all backgrounds. And there is lies the difference between management and true leadership. Employee advocates no longer exist - HR should not be allowed to follow marching orders. Instead HR should provide solutions to assist and develop employees. HR professionals have 3 roles: administrator, cop, and consultant. Too often at the company, they focus on the first two and neglect the third – making matters worse.

Pros

Free Soda and free Breakfast every two weeks

Cons

It's a Sweat shop in IT division! They will expect you to work 24 hours a day with meager pay! The Indian based companies have been flooding the IT jobs with L2 temporary visa workers and the management expects you to work for minimum pay when you calculate the number of hours you put in.

Perhaps the worst company I have ever worked for

Pros

None. Management is clueless and powerless. The company has such a poor reputation that they regularly have to hire expensive contractors with little or no experience in what they will actually be doing.

Cons

Everything. Management just regurgitates what corporate tells them. When LexisNexis acquired Health Market Science the employees were all lied to. "Nothing will change", "The benefits will be as good or better than what we have", "They are buying us for our culture". These were all lies. LexisNexis has done everything they can do destroy the culture that took years to build. The first day under LN their HR representatives flat out told the employees in person that their benefits were going to be expensive and not as good as they used to be, "We know your old company really took care of you with benefits, we can't do the same". The turn over rate is so high now that the remaining full time employees are forced to work 80 hours plus just to keep the lights on. There really is nothing good left at this point. I feel very bad for the few holdouts left here. They are over worked, under paid and miserable. One last note. This company also illegally monitors your private email and messaging so be careful should you be foolish or desperate enough to accept a position here.
