Poor Leadership at the Top

Pros

Solid benefits package. The HR services are decent, although you can never find an actual HR contact with whom to speak or ask questions. It's a revolving door.

Cons

Botched reorganization. No planning. It's a 'change it now--fix it later' mentality.

Pros

There are some very talented people who work at LexisNexis. Their work hours and locations are very flexible

Cons

There is simply no coherent strategy in terms of what they want to be. Everything is very ad-hoc and most development efforts and $ are wasted on projects that do not pan out

Company is changing for worse

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Many people operate with integrity and are interested in doing the right thing for the organization, in spite of the behavior displayed by senior "leadership".

Cons

Behavior of senior management is increasingly becoming worse towards rank and file employees, in meetings and written communications. The tone of assumed disrespect is prevelant, and advancement seems to be more and more based on how well people are liked, or how much they participate in the management frat party. Many people are also afraid to question the status quo and drive change because they are worried about being reprimanded - especially in meetings. All of this amounts to Sr. management looking like ametuer executives that are either unaware or simply don't care about how to properly treat and listen to their employees.
