Pros

As a sales representative one can feel isolated from what's going on at corporate headquarters. However, I have found that this company has done a good job of making sure we have multiple avenues to communicate to home base and resolve issues quickly.

Cons

The recent reduction in benefits such as tuition reimbursement, fit for life, and matching grants and scholarships for non profits of our choice due to the reccession.

Pros

It was a job, that was a bonus. Most of the people were very good to work with and got on with the job.

Cons

It wasn't a very good job. Although I probably knew it at the time, it took leaving the place to fully understand the extent.

Pros

I worked with a great team that was like an extended family. Generally, the atmosphere is very positive- there is a lot of freedom in it, as long as you get your work done. Also, there is a good emphasis on work/life balance, and employees take part in picnics and the like, and these boost morale. Middle management is supportive and looks for ways to help you grow. There are opportunities to take classes in-house for professional improvement. Lexmark also supports causes like Habitat for Humanity, and its employees are encouraged to participate in these causes. There is also a lot of diversity. Generally, people seemed to feel good about what they were doing, and I think this reflects positively on management and the quality of professionals that Lexmark employs.

Cons

Unfortunately, a lot of jobs are being outsourced to other countries, which is what happened to a large percentage of my department. I wonder how this will affect Lexmark down the road. Working at Lexmark, depending on what role you are in, there is cause to have concern for long-term job security.
