Pros

Liberty is great at rewarding their performing employees through bonuses and other benefits. Flexible time off based on seniority is one of the best that I have seen in my career. Liberty believes in education and training for their employees so that they can advance for the benefit of the company. Liberty also taps into the colleges and universities for employees with potential.

Cons

Liberty has gone through a number of acquisitions lately. All of the change that has occurred because of this "growth" has had it's toll on Liberty's employees. This last year has been the worst as noted by many long-term employees. "It's like we are working for another company!"

Pros

It's a stable company and industry to work in. Benefits (including paid time off) are generous and start on your first day. Salary is competitive. Management encourages career growth. There is open communication between managers and staff. They don't micro-manage. Employees are recognized when they do well.

Cons

The workload can sometimes be too much for one person to handle. Insurance and office work can be tedious, but I knew this going into it.

Pros

Very ergonomic desks, chairs, and computer accessories. Prime office space in downtown Seattle with views of Puget Sound and the surrounding areas. Projects are ambitious and have the potential to be quite challenging.

Cons

Liberty Mutual's Regional Company Group has grown too big, too fast. As a result, this organization still has a plethora of integration issues ranging from corporate culture clashes to inexperienced employees to disparate processes, networks, and information systems. It seems mid-level managers often misinterpret or simply do not understand the strategy and/or direction set forth by senior / executive leadership. There are a lot of knowledgeable and talented people across the organization, however; for some odd reason they are promoted to positions that don't suit their personality or skill sets resulting in a bit of a circus.
