Pros

Incredible co-workers and great supervisors! Very flexible scheduling and a very fun, relaxing environment. I enjoy coming to work at such a cool place that inspires kids to love science.

Cons

Customers can be quite nasty about pricing and try to swindle you to get lower pricing. Make sure to stand your ground!

Pros

There are good people at LSC, but they are becoming fewer and fewer almost by the day. You can make some good friends and learn from a variety of different backgrounds and areas of expertise.

Cons

Some of the downsides are being overworked, underpaid and as a bonus, you get to be yelled at by professionals who act more like spoiled brats with management titles. if you are lucky enough to miss that, you can hear the constant complaining and people being accused of not doing their job, by managers that are on ego trips. Whatever you do, stay away from the fiasco known as marketing. Then if you have a problem, you're probably better off getting an employee advocate instead of going to the HR dept. that got their certifications by cheating on the exam and are proud of it! Nothing is confidential. Nothing. This is known by all. If you interview and think "this place is kind of weird" or "this is weird way of doing this or that", you are correct. It is. If you think the same jobs just keep being posted, you're right. There is a reason for that. Do you notice jobs being posted a long time without being filled? There is a reason for that. If you know the stuff you were hired for, forget it. Someone who really has no idea will tell you they know better than you do and how to do it. If you don't, you will be written up, accused of something and either shown the door or driven to the point of walking out. Harassment is overlooked or made up to fit situations as needed. It all depends on who you're friends with. If your buddies with certain people, you can do nothing wrong. Ever. If you're not, don't worry, you will be on the list to be railroaded into heading out the door. LSC is not looking for leaders or professionals. They are looking for followers and those who simply will put on a big smile and pretend everything is unicorns and rainbows and say yes to everything. That even includes some midlevel management. Rock that boat and you will suddenly be put on some professional improvement plan or shown the door.

Pros

Not too hard Great people to work with it Always doing something

Cons

Management sucks! Office politics is heavily prevalent in LSC work culture. HR has more complaints against them than anyone in the science center. The pay isn't great.. $10.55 is nothing if you have bills. Growth does not exist unless you are a brown nose.
