Pros

Able to be creative. Working with others who have a passion for science. Always something new happening. A top notch museum.

Cons

Pay is only a few dollars above minimum wage for an experienced employee and with higher education.

Pros

The employees are very nice. Co-workers are a joy to be around and make the job bearable.

Cons

Low pay for what you have to deal with. Guests will blame you for everything, take their anger out on you, and the manager will side with them even if you are enforcing the rules you were trained to know. Also treated like the lowest of the low. Raise your pay and treat your workers better!

Good Summer Job

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

As I was only working part time during the summer, it was a good opportunity for a summer job. From everything I saw, they do not promote from within and none of my coworkers saw a clear path to promotion. Given the low salary of this position, I was surprised to see so many employees that have worked there for years.

Cons

It was incredibly hot and water bottles were not allowed in the fossil dig during the summer. Shifts were long and you were often in direct sun.
