So Much Potential Being Stifled By A Few

Pros

A large facility that has many people with great ideas and willingness to cooperate and do great things. Considering what the "cons" are, there are people that really try to "make it work" and improve the while experience and programs.

Cons

A select few literally run the place into the ground. Many upper level management are more concerned with their power and how they can pretend to know it all, when they don't or simply just want to throw their title and power around. The marketing team is by far one of the most "weird". They will proclaim their lack of science knowledge, yet instead of listening to staff and working with what's being created, they dictate changes and push for silly "media friendly" garbage. This leads to a staff that are forced to change programs to the whims of marketing. In other words, dumb them down or bend over backwards to appease the marketing dictators. If they don't, they become black listed and labeled "not team players" and WILL be reported to the "Talent and Development" HR regime. This office is partisan, biased, and usually not available. Unless of course you're part of their friends list. They only listen to one side of the story and conduct biased "investigations" that they've already decided on. Accusations are treated simply. If you're friends with the director, you have nothing to worry about. If you're already "black listed", you will be considered guilty of anything, up to and including made up accusations. It is also a well known fact that the director believes "white men" are racist and sexist. This person is on a mission for a mostly female and minority staff, and is being very successful so far with changing the staff, over the past several years. All under the banner of "diversity". Highly qualified professionals disappeared - by force or choice. Over a dozen FT in less than 2 years. Yet, sexual predators are allowed to stay on staff, as long as they are friends with HR. Majority of staff are literally considered "expendable" and nothing to this office. Even the one person that tried to be fair and actually did their job, packed up and left. Can't blame them. People have been abruptly fired or pretty much forced to quit, because of this bizarre and poor excuse of an "HR" office. The most insane thing that has happened in the past several years is the "director" or whatever the current "trendy" title is (like Chief People Officer), they get a promotion for being so "great". Seriously. Walk into that office and you can tell you're dealing with someone "bizarre". Have a meeting in that office and you see you're dealing with someone "wacky". This person flips from hot to cold and back, in an instant. This person talks a lot about "staff are our asset" and "diversity" and "equality" and all the latest buzz words they pick up off the internet. Even "staff are like family". Yeah, maybe a dysfunctional family with a crazy aunt deciding who's allowed to the family parties and the nutty cousins in marketing, deciding the party plans. These people are concerned about office gossip and "negative chit chat". Someone posted that privacy and confidentiality is non-existent. Very true. If people weren't so tired of being treated like prison inmates, maybe there wouldn't be a "problem". Just read other reviews that go into details and it becomes obvious where and what the problems are. Where is the real leadership to realize the true problems with LSC? It seems the top is more concerned with big pet projects and simply letting unprofessional bullies run the staff.
