Pros

The Christian environment is nice. I enjoy teaching the courses. The students are great.

Cons

Don't ever hope of teaching full time or having benefits. Just get it out of your mind. The online school is an army of adjuncts. You can never depend on having classes. The online school supports the residential school financially, but the university doesn't really care about the online students as much. Adjuncts are the bottom of the barrel.

Pros

Not many and not normal. If you have friends and family working there or in management there, then working there can be better for you than someone without the connections. If you are in need of free tuition for yourself or family then working here is a no brainer.

Cons

This field is not large enough. Departments seem to run independent of each other which seems to adversely impact communication. Team work is foreign concept, but 'I', how well I sell myself and my connections are important. All about connections and who you know there. No real HR and things like typical onboarding or hiring notifications are non existent. The self governing departments seem to enforce their own adopted rules and policies. They also show favoritism, sexist behavior was also common in my department. The sad thing is that despite a few good Christ centered individuals, the talk is false. When it comes to human beings and employees they do not practice what they preach. Saw many disturbing things there including someone not qualified to teach online classes (failed to complete degree) get hired because of friendship with someone making decision. Coworkers can do some terrible things as far as speaking badly behind each other's backs and making things uncomfortable for coworkers. There are so many issues that you don't see in a regular secular environment that you see here and it's such a shame that LU is not able to create a workplace that centers around things like respect, honesty and working with (not against) coworkers.

Pros

You get 18 credit hours a year paid for. (Which you now have to claim on taxes).

Cons

-sneaky,lying, manipulative upper management -have to be a butt kisser to be promoted -awful work hours -awful salary for all you do -no clear expectations -make salary stay beyond 40 hours without extra pay -they want you to be robots and not make friendships and relationships -hypocritical Christians
